In my nero when i insert 1x-8x DVD+-R, i get to see speeds 6x and 8x only. I cannot see 4x. I can see different speeds to burn using other software. any idea why?
it depends on your disk and your burner (how it reads your disk to make write stratagies). Notice the speeds go all the way up to 16x for an 8x disk.... that's because my drive reads the Taiyo Yuden disk and has write stratagies for overburning. I used the 16x once or twice by mistake (because I didn't take off the Maximum setting for burning) and it did a good job, too.
well... the media is Sony DVD+R and the writer is SONY 720A. Other DVD burning software do show me a list of other speeds.
I just showed you Nero Burning Rom and the list of write speeds to choose from in my reply above. what Nero program are you using? Are you looking in the right place? And like I said.... it all depends on how your burner reads your disk.... if it only shows up as 6x and 8x then it is your burner setting the write strategies for that particular disk..... and that's how it will write to that media..... but if it's Nero doing it that's a different story......what version of Nero do you have?
