I recently replaced my old burner with a new Lite-On iHAS124A burner (BLOP firmware)and I am able to go into Nero DiscSpeed and change the Booktype to DVD-ROM for all DVD+R/RW/DL options. My problem is that I cannot get it to perform the actual function of booktyping my burns. I can reopen the program after I change the booktype and it says that DVD-ROM is the default setting, but it won't do it. I have tried multiple different brands of +R's and +RW's without success. I even put my old drive back in to see if it would still booktype to DVD-ROM, and it did....no problem. I am about to pull my hair out. Does anyone have any idea what is going on?? Please help.

I checked my latest burn in Nero DiscSpeed, and it showed that it did actually booktype to DVD-ROM. Strange thing is, my old drive used to show in the burn process that it was booktyping to DVD-ROM, but the new drive for some reason does not. That is what was throwing me off Thanks for the reply though.

Here is another way to "booktype" via Nero Burning Rom. This is what I have mine setup and it always change DVD+R to DVD-ROM whenever I'm using Nero to burn.

I recommend choosing "Automatic" because both Nero Burning Romand Nero Express will automatically "booktype" whenever you use any DVD+R, DVD+RW or DVD+R DL disc to burn.
