Hello senior administrators, In fact ,i have just started developing strange behaviours of my pc .At startup the windows "c:\program files\common " has popping up, and as at now i cannot open my c:\ in my computer, my document ,pendrives etc.... Anytime i try to open the c:\ ,it brings a dialog box with title telling me "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Error ,Program: c:\windows\explorer.exe ,abnormal program termination " and with only "OK" for me to click.When i click "OK" the window just closes. Go to add remove programs. Find and remove MalwareWipe. Then delete the MalwareWipe folder(if it remains) in Program Files. If it doesn't allow it, go here and download KillBox. Open Killbox.exe. Check "Standard File Kill". In the "Full Path of File to Delete" box, copy and paste each of the following lines [bold]one at a time[/bold]. Then click on the button that has the red circle with the X in the middle after you enter each file. You will be prompted to confirm, click Yes. [bold]C:\Program Files\MalwareWipe[/bold] Next, run a scan only with HijackThis, check and fix these "left overs". Hello Niobis , Sorry for the delay in replying you; i went on trek outside where the pc is . When i used KillBox it it said the folder could not be deleted ;Access Denied, so i logged on in safe mode and was able to open the c:\ to delete the c:\program files\malwarewipe, manually. I also scanned with HijackThis and Fixed the two errors.I Also reinstalled c++. But the problems still exists.The window "c:\program files\common" still pops up at startup. Ok, look in Add/Remove Programs for: Funweb Mywebsearch Mediapipe They probably won't be there but, if you do find 'em, uninstall. Go here to get Ccleaner. Run both cleaner and issues fix(when prompted to backup registry, click no). You should be clean after that.
Hello Niobis , I have been able to solve the problem as at now and it's not occuring again; i believe it is totally cured. The problem was caused by an update from free download manager; it was a BHO problem So i had to download BHO Captor which allowed me to deactivate the BHO of FDM and the problem solve immediatelly after that. Thanks a lot .
You could have deleted the BHO using HijackThis, but we didn't know that was the probelm. Anyway, glad to hear your runing smooth again. And your welcome, even though I didn't help much.
