I just chipped my GC + Replacement case to fit standard sized DVDr's
    bios cobra 1.2v
the problem is when i actually go into the game, ie after the intro's, save etc. it comes up with "Cannot read disc...."

The main question is.. do i need to tweek the laser to get it to read the disc's?

or is there a configuration in the cobra menu?

looks liek no ones going to help and i know it can be frusterating when people dont post. i havent done it my self but i have modded other systems. it sounds like you do have a DRE (disc read error) weather its the same message as the one you got or they just standardised DRE from ps2's problems. dunno. but i would do the lazer tweak and if you still have problems switch to another type of media. hope that helps :)

You have to tweek your laser, it's pretty simple to do but you need the right equipment to take the proper readings..

The media im using is G05 dye so it should be okay,as i can get MGS twin snake to work okay, RE4, mario golf, M party 6 dont! I'll tweak the laser and check it with my multimeter
195 ohms seem to be a good setting as other forums are saying
    I'll post my results soon
