Hi all, After backing up my registered version of The Temple of Elemental Evil, I have some trouble playing it.... Here's what I did: I had the files (one for each CD) as .bin files, but as I did not have the .cue documents, I converted them to .ISO's (using winISO). Then burned them with Nero (5.5.10.something) and installed them. So far so good, installation worked fine. But now when I insert CD2 (play disk) it does ask: "do you want to play ToEE?" but when I press 'yes' it just gives me [bold]"insert play disk"[/bold] (tried both CD's of course) Anyone encountered this before? Is it a naming issue (I gave the CD's a prettymuch random name)? If so, how should I name them? thanks for any advice anyone has for me!
1. This belongs on CDR ....... *teleported* A slight flaw in the story. Assume for a moment that you did backup your copy of The Temple of Elemental Evil ........ Well, when you make BIN files you also make the CUE files. This reeks of software piracy . When you converted to ISO a whole crapload of extra (needed) information was lost. You prolly dont have a hope of backing it up with ISOs. Another booboo.... Nero is not anything close to a proggie that can handle SecureROM cd protection. Consider A120 or BW5 That's because your discs are fakes and the game knows it Why would you do that? If you owned the game you would know which CD was the play disc and which was the install disc eh? ;-) 1. When you made your BIN file the proper cd label was saved for you 2. When you convert to ISO the name is not lost, rather it is presrved. 3. Even if you downloaded the BIN, those too have the proper cd label already done for ya 4. SecureROM cd protection requires that the cd labels match up properly To back up your actual CDs have a look at the SecureROM threads.
