I have a Sony 1.4GB DVD-R disc that I recoreded some stuff onto from my camcorder. I am trying to rip the video from the disc, but getting errors. I have tried to copy with Nero, but received and LBA read error. I have tried DVD decrypter and received the following error: E 18:39:51 Failed to read Sector 313792 - No Seek Complete. I am also using Sonic MyDVD and I get and unknown error from that. I have installed the latest ASPI drivers, and updated my firmware. My OS is XPSP2, my drive is a NEC ND-3500AG, and the firmware is 2.1A. Can anyone suggest how I can get the vidoe off the disc? Thansk
Is the DVD clean? are there any visable scratches? Can you view the entire dvd in your camcorder or player? It sort of sounds like a bad/scratched disc?
@mosley1 Try isobuster to copy the disc to your hd. You can download it here: http://www.isobuster.com/
The disc is clean, and there are no visible scratches. I can view it on my camcoreder. I can going to try to capture it from my camcorder today (didnt think of this till this morning). I will also try ISObuster. Will let you know if it works... Thanks
well today i tried IsoBuster. I did receive many of the following errors though: Sector XXXXX couldn't be read Error: 03/02/00 I chose to Replace with all zeros. It copied the files to my hard drive the I was able to view the videos without a problem. Then when I used MyDVD I still received errors trying to import the files. I then tried to import from another disc and received the same errors. I received two different errors from MyDVD: This is not a valid MPEG file and Unknown error. I am having trouble with my camcorder driver so I cannot capture from the camera. will work on that tomorrow. Any other suggestions? Thanks again.
This is just a guess since I don't have that type of recorder. Is there any way to finalize that recording?? I know with stand alone recorders if a dvd isn't finalized you will have problems playing it in other machines. Just a guess. Jerry
@mosley1 Here's some other suggestions: Try running the files thru vobblanker - may help. It can fix problem cells. Just input the file then pick/make an output folder - click process Download it here: http://jsoto.posunplugged.com/vobblanker.htm What format does your camcorder record in? Not fimilar with camcorders but MyDVD probably only handles mp2.
Jerry: Yes, I did finalize these. I must finalize these so I can watch them on settop DVD players. binkie7: I tried vobblanker it locked up. I am not sure what format it records in, but I assume it is mp2. From the same disc I can import some of the movies but not others.
