I bought Nero 8 two weeks ago, just to be able to burn DVDs with my new DVD burner that my old Nero 6.6 did not support. The DVD burner (Nero Burning Rom) app works fine. Now I want to try using the Nero MediaHome service so my PC can stream video to my PS3. MediaHome apparently starts and runs (shows in task manager) but no window appears, so I cannot add media to playlists, etc. Now I thought I'd try un-installing and reinstalling Nero 8. Well I can't do that either. In the control panel -> add or remove programs -> Remove Nero 8: "Fatal error during installation". and nothing happens. What now?
jbeale, Use the Nero CleanTools found here. Make sure you utilize the matching clean tools with the version(s) you have in your PC. At first boot, after restart download this updated installer instead. You can't have one foot in both camps. Make sure you only have a single version bedded in your system.
thanks for the tip, I am using the Nero CleanTool now. Nero 8 actually uninstalled Nero 6.6 by itself, before it would install, so I do not have any Nero 6.6 left (as far as I can tell).
