canon a300 shutter delay ?

    i have a canon a300 it has this annoying delay problem when taking a picture you have to hold done the shutterbutton half way wait then push all the way to take a snap sometimes i have done this and it still wont take a picture, is there nay cure for this,anyone recommend a similar priced camera that does not have this problem

    All digital cameras have the same problem. Digital slr handles this better, but in pocket size cameras it's always a problem. If you're shooting fast moving objects, then you should focus (press the shutter release half way through) in advance. This is probably the only way to minimize shutter lag in pocket digicams. If it still doesn't take a picture when you push all the way, then you might have insufficient light or camera just can't focus for some other reason. To fix this you should use manual focus if possible.

    I don't know what price range this camera is, but I recommend canon's ixus series (powershot sd in u.s. if I remember correctly, anyway those small cameras with big lcd's and metal body). Latest ixus series cameras have digicII processor, which is way faster than the old digic. It focuses faster and all camera functions are faster too. It's the same processor as canon's digital slr's use (eos 350d for example). Or you could try sony's models, they are fast but canon's cameras have better image quality and colours.
