I'm about to buy a little better digicam this time, ixus 700 just isn't enough. Your experiences with eos 350D? Pros and cons?
the mount between the lens and the camera body is plastic and has a problem with breaking with larger lenses...other than that...great camera for the price
I have the EOS 300D, called the Digital Rebel, and I love it. All I can say is, be prepared to spend some money! One lense is not enough, and it can get to be an expensive hobby! Considering how many gadgets you can add to the camera... Raymond
I would have to agree with Cobra, however it is a great camera and is definately worth the money you spend on it. I too would recommend additional lenses, if you really plan to use for a variety of things. But then again I am a photographer, so it would be different coming from me. You are sure to find a deal listed at http://www.us.dealsopolis.com, as they provide an excellent source of information and places that have deals on camera's.
I would definately recommend this camera, has produced far better images than any other camera I have used before. Although being an SLR gives you far more creative options, they are more difficult to master if you go beyond purely auto settings. The basic kit lens is sufficient to get a good range of pictures, but this can then be added to with other lenses such as the EF 50 F1.8 for £70 or better would be the EF 40 F1.4 for about £250. These are standard lenses (no zoom) and will give better peformance for portrait etc... especially for low light. Get it from somwhere like Ebuyer if in UK, Pixmania are a foreign exporter and you won't get English manuals or coupons. Another site to steer well clear of is MYDV.co.uk. They operate out of the US and the service is totally crap if you can ever get hold of them. Another thing to realise is that being an SLR you can not use the LCD display as a viewfinder, it is only able to display menus and previously captured photos. This last bit of info is left off most sites, as they assume everyone buying this model will no the basic workings of an SLR.

I have this camera now and I would recommend it. This is my 3rd digital camera and my fourth SLR. As said before the basic kit lens is only ok but it will do for a start. If anything the first thing you may want to add is a better flash unit. Overall, this is a great camera and well worth the money. Have fun
