Neighbor brought over a NEW copy he got at retailer of Harry Potter Prisoner of Azkaban or whatever? Dual-layer format DVD region 1,got here in SoCal.We can't "SEE" the disc2 or read the DUAL-Layer? NEVER had a dual layer either, neither did he.Since I'm a member of Afterdawn,He asked me to find out from my Technical "Wizards" here,What the How we access this "Dual-Layer"? There's only ONE Disc in the box! Only One Spot for one disc.On the disc we have it says DISC 1!!The "insert says info on Disc1 and Disc2.Did he just get a lemon? Does dual-layer mean two discs ,on one? Even though it says Disc 1 on the only one that was packaged! I swear, there is nothing I've EVER seen like this! I have a Brand NeW Panasonic DVDR and he has tried ,unsucessfully on his DVD player also. Any "Wizards" workin today? Thanks I'm "BurninMAD!!

Unless the front cover of the dvd says 2 disc set, you may have gotten a inner sleeve for a 2 disc set placed mistakenly in a 1 disc box. To view disc 2, you need disc 2 which is not present.

The answer to your question is no, but you have the right idea.

A dual layer disc is an 8.4GB disc. It isn't quite as large as 2 discs. A standard DVD is 4.7GB.

I also noticed my new copy from Walmart of Good Bad Ugly,is dual layer format! Wassuuppwith this? I don't notice anything different, but my neighbor with the new Harry Potter, thinks the "other layer" ,has the "extra stuff" on it? He says to access it ,you gotta stop the DVD ,at just the EXACT spot? Now,I can't see a beautiful mother loading this DVD ,while "the kids" are Anxiousmetc., Looking for "The Spot" ,so to speak! I can't find very much info on dual layer except the fact of its ability to store more data? Help?

Goto main menu, then look for the extras, special features, etc, if "extra stuff" not there, then sorry. A standard stand alone dvd player can accesss the second layer of a dual layer disc w/o problems
