Had the "kavo.exe" virus and i've completly gotten rid of it ,but now this problem: when i go to my computer and try to open my hard drive (C and D) i get a window asking me, "choose what program you want to use to open this file" and the always use this program is greyed out. This also happens if i use a usb flash drive. Also, when i put a cd or dvd in and double click on the drive (in my computer or shorcut on desktop) the search screen comes up! This happens too with any folders on the desktop excuding my documents, my computer, recycle bin and shortcuts to programs (shortcuts to folders anywhere do the search screen thing too) I can bypass the problem by selecting the "folders" button/right clicking and going to explore (except on drives....) I can't use system restore as I turned it off to make sure I killed the virus...
UPDATE fixed the problem with folders opening into the search screen, all i needed to do was to google it a bit more...
