I would assume that your internet is connected to your router and you accsses the internet from your Xbox through your router.

What you need to do is find the IP address for the router (it should be 192.168.0.1 I have a D-Link router and that is the IP for my router yours should be the same) and then go to your Xbox network settings and for the DNS entry enter the router IP there.

That will tell the Xbox to get the internet conection from the router which is connected to your modem.

That is how I get my Xbox to go online through my router.

I agree with cearel. Make sure all your system settings on the xbox are ok. Also check the admin settings on the router. Sometimes you need to alter the settings to allow multiple connections to the internet. Plus it helps if you have port forwarding on.

I still think its the DNS entry not having the router IP set. I had trouble with my Xbox getting online and updating the dashboard or download skins and even shout cast when i started XBMC. I then noticed there was no DNS entry and inputed my router IP there and it connected then.

But I guess we wont know the outcome till or if we get a reply back from them stating what the solution was. Hope he replys back, that way others can learn from the thread on how to correct the problem.

Theres been alot of threads latley that the thread author has never come back and replyed back what or if the problem was solved. Makes threads kinda pointless if you dont get a soulution to the question that was asked.

Yes someone could get alot of information off this thread on how to possibly fix the problem but its always good to reply back with what solution worked.

Alright. I Started my Xbox up with the drive open and inputed the 2 DNS address in Unleash X. It was able to auto update. I then restarted with the drive closed. My dashboard comes up Evo X. I then go into XBMC under apps.
My xbox ip is 192.168.0.101. Subnet 255.255.255.0 Defualt gateway 192.168.0.1 I tired putting in that same adress into the DNS 192.168.0.1 with no luck. After XBMC restart. ALso I seem to be only be able to ftp in XBMC when using DHCP. You would assume right that I access the internet throught my router. I have my xbox going into my router. Also how do I turn on port forwarding?

First off you should only have to set your DNS 1 field you shouldnt have to put anything in the DNS2 on your dashboard.

Since your using XBMC as an Application go to XBMC and then to your network settings and for ASSIGMENT choose DEFAULT (dashboard) this will tell XBMC to use your Dashboard settings as the network connection.

I never messed with port forwording with my Xbox connection. I have never heard anyone doing it. I use port forwording for my torrent client but thats it.

Now you said you can onnly FTP with XBMC does this mean you cant FTP with EVOX?
