Please help.. I'm struggling to back up my photos to DVD. I have used Nero 6.0.0.9 and Pinnacle Instant CD/DVD to create a ISO type non-multi session disk (Same technique I use backing my photo's up on to CDR.

Each time I try to create the dvd it looks like it's been successful (Directories and jpegs look same (same name/size of photos etc) When I try opening a photo I get 'can't open image, read error. I have used DVD+r and DVD-r disk and have wasted loads of them >:)O(
Am I being a complete wally and doing something wrong here ?

    Please help.

You need to burn the DVD as a data disc. Unlike CD-R's, DVD-R's cannot be burned as multi-session unless you are using a DVD-RW.

Hi there thanks for responding !

I have used two different programs. Pinnacle Instant CD/DVD and Nero 6.0.0.10.

I don't use multisession and try to create just a plain data disk (non multisession etc)

I've tried two types of media and have tried copying a different speeds....

In Nero just use the DVD-ROM disc option and you SHOULD use multisession for data discs - therein lies the problem. Check before you burn that multisession IS checked in the DVD-Rom option, that ISO level 1 is checked in the filepath box and ISO 9660 is checked in the character set box.

If you use Multisession how does one use the disk on a non dvd writer type drive ?

ie I can view the files ok on my dvd writer but my m8 can't view the disk on his pc dvd drive ?

    Cheers,
    Matty

Are you sure he's trying to access the files in the correct way? The DVD writer drive is no different to any other drive when it comes to reading discs.
