Can't burn a damn CD to save my soul...I get "Could not perform start of Disc-At-Once" HELP!

I had my computer reformatted and ever since, I cannot burn CDs. I have Nero but I have also tried HP CD Burner and WMP with no luck with any of them. It's really driving me to distraction. I have the log but don't know what part of it to post...Creaky, are you out there???

 

thats easy, post the whole of it, from start to finish.That way we can decipher the whole thing.

also have you installed the motherboard IDE drivers?

and have you installed an ASPI layer ?

you have some seriuos apps loaded with drivers? this may be a conflict do you have any packet writing software like ROXIO apps loaded?

Dang, so many questions. PLEASE bear in mind that you are dealing with a newbie, in the truest sense of the word. I will try to answer as best I can...

I can't even figure out how to write in this forum...

When I go to System Properties it says I have 192.0 MB of RAM and 61% Free System Resources.

i have searched and searched for a way to turn the DMA on, as CREAKY advised the last time I attempted to fix this. NOWHERE does it give me that option.

the HP CD burner I have installed is an internal one.

I don't know, how do I find what drivers are installed???

NO idea what an ASPI layer is.

I do not have any packet writing software like ROXIO apps loaded that I am aware of.

Didn't realize that was a wma but many burns have failed w/ only mp3 files.

I hope this reads correctly.

I realize I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but please don't give up on me.
