Cant burn DVD +/-/R/RW, will firmware help?

    Am tryng to burn DVD+/-/R/RW disks using Nero 8 in my Philips DVD burner but I get a message saying "illegal disk, couldnt perform end of disk at once",
    Might I solve this problem by installing a driver update or new firmware? Or should I just stick with DVD-R?
