Cant burn DVD-R whit NERO 6 and Philips DVDR824P

    I have a problem
    i can burn any type of cds whit my Philips DVDR824P:

    but i cant burn any dvd-r
    this is my first time that i burn a dvd
    i use NERO 6 express and i want to do a dvd of backup of some my files and data but when i clic to BURN it read my virgin dvd-r and but some second after it get me a error,but nero can read it like a blank dvd-r..

    For DVD's the PHILIPS DVDR824P only burns DVD+R and DVD+RW disc's.

    and why if i try to get hardware info it say me that i can write dvd-r?

    I would recommend upgrading to the latest Nero 6, as you do have an old version. And make sure you have the latest firmware for your model recorder.

    The bottom line is the Recorder is not properly detecting the DVD media. Try more than one brand of DVD-R media, or DVD-RW media. But only after you upgrade our software and the firmeware on your recorder and you find you still have problems.
