cant burn dvds lol

i know htis is a stupid question but how do you burn dvds wiht nero.. like i know where to go and everything but when i go to the vid i want to burn.. its not their..but i can burn it to vcd so what is a good converter i guess to dvd format if thier is a format for dvds.

Well first tell us what extension are the files you are working with.

For video files like AVI,MPEG,WMV and so on use Nero Vision or Nero Vision Express depending on what version you Nero you use. In Nero 6.X it will be Nero Vision Express and with Nero 7.X it will be Nero Vision. Here is a guide to help you http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/272946

Now if you have a DVD on your hard drive with extensions like IFO,BUP,and VOB then open Burning Rom, and drag and drop them into the VIDEO_TS folder. Then burn it.

Also depending on your system you may not be bale to burn at MAX speed, so 2X is always safe bet and you can try 4X and 8X burn speeds but if you get errors then stick to 2X.
