    I need some help
someone to give me some kind of mentoring, I've been looking thru afterdawn fourms and reading thru guides for the past 2 days and still can't seem to burn a couple episodes of the boondocks to a DVD-RW 4.7GB
I am pretty handy with DVD shrink, so I assume, but I don't know what to do at all. I tried DVDsanta, which makes it simple enough, and when I tried to play it, NOTHING same thing happened with I tried to use Cucusoft avi/blah blah blah /dvd. when I tried using avi2dvd it told me There were to many strange characters in the name, when it was only letter, and it wouldnt give me anything for the audio, someone just please help me here, I have NTI CD/DVD maker, and NERO 6 ULTRA EDITION

theres a couple of things you didnt mention, are you trying to convert avi files to mpeg2 or are you trying to back up your dvds.

2ndly please remove your email address from the public forum before a mod does it for you.

I would scrap the nti cd/dvd and just use nero to burn. However i would suggest you download this alternative piece of software to encode your avi files to mpeg2

    [bold]vso divx to dvd[/bold]

i have given you the info but not the link so here it is.

    http://www.filepedia.com/video_software/dvd-r_tools/vso_divxtodvd_free.cfm

Basically so we arent mucking you around

    1.download avicodec.
    2.run your file through it
3.post the results for me to see

4.download this app from the link below
5.load one of your avi files into it for starters and press convert
6.once converted your nero or whatever you use to burn shouldnt have a problem reconizing the mpeg2 file and you will be able to get it to disc.
7.insert the now burnt disc in your standalone; does it play

Yeah, learning how to do that would be cool.
Say, I was also wondering, what are the files I NEED to put on the DVD-RW because when I open up the VIDEO_TS folder therre is a lot of stuff in there from .ISO .BUP .IFO and the VOB files, I am just asking to see if I can save space on the DVD's.
What other cool techie stuff can I learn, I feel like a sponge!
