Welcom to AfterDawn, Angelsent! it looks like you're trying to make a direct copy of a movie? You realize that movies on DVDs have copy protection on them and you have to use programs that will allow you to get rid of the copy protection and be able to copy the movie??? sooooooooo here is a great thread for beginners: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/183136

read the guides and learn about the software that is used. if you read on you will find some useful information on burning a DVD movie! Here are more tips for you:

    1) use good media... stay away from Memorex..we call it Memosux! here is a good thread for you to learn about good media: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/183136
if you follow this guide for good media you will realize that starting out with a good disk will help avoid problems! Taiyo Yuden (which can be bought online at supermeidastore.com, meritline.com and other reputable online stores), Verbatim, Sony, Maxel to name just a few. Remember, you can spend the same amount of money on BAD media as you can with GOOD media, therefore buy the good stuff! Save headaches later!

    2) burn you disks at 4x... this will avoid reading errors with DVD players!

    3) if you can set the program to compress the movie to only 4300Kbs... this will stop the movie from burning too close to the edge of the disk and make the copy readable! Avoiding another problem that many have.

    4) if you can Booktype your drive to DVD-ROM, this will make your recorded disks fool your DVD player that it is a DVD-ROM and be more acceptable for MOST DVD players!

There are more things to learn and feel free to ask! Many people here will try to help you out! good luck.... it's easy once you start!
