    Hi,

I have been using imgburn to burn DVD+R on my Optiarc AD-7200S burner for ages. I used to burn DVD-R's with the same software on my old burner.

However I am now getting an error whenever I try to burn a DVD-R I am using Verbatim discs (Disc ID: MCC 03RG20).

I can burn to DVD-R when burning data files (Eg DivX) using Nero. However I always get errors when I burn DVD movies onto DVD-R. I have had the same problem using cheaper DVD-R's (Disc ID: CMC MAG. AM3). I thought it was just the cheap discs that caused the problem - but now I think it might be all DVD-R.

    Any suggestions?

I thought I would try again and post some logs to see if anyone could help and wouldn't you know it after 3 days of trying to get it to work and 5 discs wasted it worked fine. Well almost...

I still got the I/O error, but this time when I hit retry - after waiting 30 Seconds - the burn process started. I will attach logs anyway, perhaps someone can tell why I get some of the errors I get anyway.

    Cheers

    Try burning at 8x.
While you have plenty of memory, you're using close to 1GB. That means you have programs running in the background. We have no idea what programs they are. One or more may cause some conflict. Try shutting some of them down.

Yep, I probably did have other stuff running. I'll give it a go.

I still get the same error, but I also get a CD control error.
I think it is because there is something that is preventing IMGBurn getting the device locked in for exclusive use. Or perhaps there is an issue with the burner itself taking a long time to become ready.

At least it works, I just have to hit 'rety' a lot

    Try this:

    Open Imgburn
    Go Tools > Settings
    Choose ISO Write Mode tab.
Uncheck the checkbox labeled Lock volume-exclusive access

I think that's right, but i'm at my work pc so i'm going entirely from memory. ;)
