    I know this really isn't a "problem" per se....BUT!

I really hate it that DVD makers are making going straight to the disc menu and bypassing all the "stuff" that is in front of this menu a PUO.

My daughter is 5. She has discs that she watches over and over and over. It is very annoying NOT being able to bypass all the stuff that is before the top menu. I like Disney's Fast Play where I can just press MENU and get to where I can start the movie for her.

I can understand wanting to "advertise" upcoming movies new to DVD, and all the other things that forcing users to view these things can accomplish, but, movie studios must realize that eventually, all these "new" releases will be very old before the DVD is wore out, and making a viewer watch these things EVERY TIME they play the disc is a terrible thing to do. They obviously do not USE the discs they create!

Just make a backup copy of the discs, will remove all the annoying previews and PUOs(especially since your daughter uses those discs a lot, prevent them from damaging...).

If you make your back ups using AnyDVD you have the option of the movie starting as soon as it is loaded by the player! Now there is no more trying to find the hidden buttons.

Yeah I make all of mine that way. Pop in the DVD it loads and begins to play. AnyDVD warns about it causing conflicts, but I have yet to have any.

If using DVDFab, has a similar option, you can jump to first menu or jump to first title when the disc is inserted.
