I have a AVI file with 512*384 resolution. I load it into CCE SP2 using these settings:

However if i choose MPEG2 and check mark the For DVD box, I can adjust the first attribute in the Frame Size box, but not the second attribute, unless i uncheck "For DVD"

Is there anyway around this or do i have to uncheck "for DVD"?

Xplorer, why not try using FitCD to generate your AVISynth script and then load that with CCE? CCE should recognize the .avs file and FitCD will allow you to modify frame size, overscan, etc.

Well the DVD spec is pretty much set in stone. You have 3 options, 4:3 or 16:9 and either 704 X 480 or 720 X 480 for NTSC DVD.
