I had to get my computer worked on b/c I had gotten a virus. I tried to burn a dvd last night, but it did not work. The program could analyse the dvd, but when it came time to eject the dvd and put the blank dvd in, I could not click on backup. Can anyone help me with this? Maybe I need a different version. I really don't know, but I need help. Thanks. katt P.S. The files of the movie I was burning went to my hard drive. Does anyone have a link to the correct dvd shrink version that works? I hope so.

You more than likely have an encryption issue where shrink just can't backup the DVD, but just to make sure you don't have a problem with shrink itself...uninstall shrink and then reinstall it.

Here's a link to the download just in case http://download.softpedia.com/dl/6c...28/software/cd_dvd_tools/dvdshrink32setup.zip

unzip the file and install the application.

If it is an encryption problem, then you'll need to take a different approach.

You can also use DVDFab HD (free) .

You can try using shrink with DVDFab Passkey(free) to increase the chances of a successful backup, install and then use shrink.

The paid version of DvdFab can compress the movies to dvd5 size. I tend to still use the longer route of DvdFab > vobblanker > dvd shrink/dvd rebuilder > imgburn.

I have a question. The screen that shows the place you want the dvd to go and so forth, mine shows either Hard disk drive, or ISO image. i assume the latter one is the correct one? please help. thanks, katt

Either will work.....if you need to use DVDfab:

The easiest way to go is to have the files ripped to the hard drive in the ISO image format, then open the image file DVDFab created using shrink (file--- open disk image) and let it do its thing, have it save the file in ISO image format to the hard drive, then you can use Imgburn to burn the transcoded DVD5 ISO file to DVD.

    Imgburn
    http://download.imgburn.com/SetupImgBurn_2.5.1.0.exe

Install the app, choose the ISO as your source file and your burner as the destination, then just chill-out for a while;)

I recommend installing DVDFab Passkey, then use shrink for the backup process. Have shrink save the ripped video files to your hard drive as an ISO image that you can burn to DVD disk using Imgburn.

I am sure it is not hard, but it all sounds complicated to me. On the DVD Shrink screen, I thot that "DVD Ram Drive" would be showing instead of the "ISO Image". It has always shown the first one, but not since I had to install the program again. thanks, katt

Hi there. I never could get DVDShrink to work again, so I took it off and I am now using CloneDvd2. It's wonderful! katt
