I can't seem to do anything with this audio other than extract it from the mkv.

I tried compressing it with behappy and aften. It outputted a file but after 2 seconds, the audio was silent.

I exported it as wav then converted to ac3 with aftengui and or wavtoac3 guis, and same result.

I tried loading it in ac3fix and it said "in ok".

I tried loading it on headac3he, but it wouln't load > "could not load source file". All other ac3 files I tried loaded fine on here.

This is what I get with mediainfo from the extracted .ac3 file:

    Audio
    Format : AC-3
    Format/Info : Audio Coding 3
    Bit rate mode : CBR
    Bit rate : 384 Kbps
    Channel(s) : 2 channels
    Channel positions : L R
    Sampling rate : 48.0 KHz

This is what I get from the .mkv file:

    Audio
    Format : AC-3
    Format/Info : Audio Coding 3
    Codec ID : A_AC3
    Duration : 2h 31mn
    Bit rate mode : CBR
    Bit rate : 384 Kbps
    Channel(s) : 2 channels
    Channel positions : L R
    Sampling rate : 48.0 KHz
    Title : AC3 5.1
    Language : English

    Any idea what's going on?

Played the AC3;I hear ten seconds of music, about fifteen seconds of quiet then the dialog.
Opened the AC3 in Belight, converted to mp3 and got the same result.

    yea that sounds about right

but can you try compressing the ac3?

    ac3 to ac3

    see what you get

also, what encoders are you using?

edit: damn, i did get audio, but using belight and the ac3enc

but the audio is delayed or something, it's no longer in sync with the video

There's an advanced setting in BeLight to change the frame rate which changes the length of the file.
