can't conect to computer (psp)

    need help, first time with psp.
    i can't connect to my computer via usb cord.
    i went to settings then usb connection pressed x and it won't
    connect (it says please wait for over 20 min now, no connection)
    thanks for your help!!!!

    1) bad cable
    2) USB socket not working on PSP
    3) USB socket not working on comuter

    Buy a card reader!
