Hey lads trying to flash a nokia dbox2 at the mo using ifa.i have a laptop with windows vista and have flashed the box i have now before with just the crossover cable.problem is i can't remember exactly how i did it!! i remember having problems before alrite but think there's something minor that i'm doing wrong.all of the guides are based on windows xp so its hard to follow step by step.its annoying as i have flashed this very box before! i've been using 2 sets of ip & gateway settings.when i hit start on the ifa & plug the box in it just boots up as normal & the ifa says 'waiting for dbox to start'.any help would be much appreciated.
that's the one i'm using m8.it's petty easy to use alrite.but can't connect to the box.have you flashed dbox2 on vista before? if so could u tell me what settings you put in such as ip settings.or do u know any links with good guides?
Are you using a null modem and cross over cable? Disable your wireless network, give your laptop a static ip address
i heard a few people across some of the threads saying that the box won't flash on vista with a null modem cable.i remember the last time i flashed this box i only used the ethernet cable.i've been using the guide downloaded from eamos for ip settings etc.last time i flashed the box i was messing around with the network settings on the laptop and managed to get it working.problem is can't remeber what settings though!!
Using the latest version of IFA I've flashed a few of those boxes, but i've always had both cables plugged in(null modem and crossover) and my wireless disabled. I've never had any problems with Vista(possibly disable UAC)
just flashed the dbox using both cables.left all the other settings the same so looks like that was the problem.but i definitly flashed a couple of dbox's with just the ethernet cable before.ah well got it done can't complain.thanx alot for your help lads.keep up the great work!!
It does sometimes work with just the crossover, done it myself many times with the older builds of IFA back in the day. Good your sorted anyway. Enjoy it while it lasts
