My job has an older comp (Emachines T2341) And it has a problem connecting to the internet via Internet explorer. Their provider here in Alaska is GCI and they have DSL. Well about 2 weeks ago they purchased and installed Norton Systemworks and from their they have had the problem. Unfortunatly the day they bought NSW, they just got it back from Geek Squad at Bestbuy. I have since then uninstalled NSW after reading their support section on the problem and it stated that NSW Can not cause the internet to fail due to it doesnt have any files that deal with the net. Now after an hour of trouble shooting with GCI, and one very stumpy technition, i was informed to contact Emachines. I dont feel like doing that just yet. Does anyone have any ideas what it might be?

(some of the trouble shooting he had me do, was winsock reset, unpluging the dsl modem, reseting the ip address. Im command prompt i pinged him, and ping was successful. The tech had me type in google's ip address of 66.102.7.104 and i gained access, but if i type in www.google.com IE said it couldnt load the search engine. IF i did googles ip addy, i could do a search and get results, but none of the results would work. Running out of ideas)
