I've been having some difficulties producing sound on my DVDs produced with Nero Vision and I think I've tracked it down to not being able to encode ac3 sound on my computer. I run Nero Wave Editor, load an mp3 song, then save it as an ac3 file. The conversion seems to work and I get no errors, but the resulting ac3 file doesn't sound like music at all, just like a bunch of high pitched fax machine tones. So I try to use BeSweet to convert an mp3 file on my computer to an ac3. It errors out with: "Error 74: Bad configuration for AC3enc. Couldn't initialize." Do I have a bad codec or ac3 encoder? How do I fix this?
My audio turns out fine when I do the exact same thing on my other computer. I can burn DVDs with audio, I can convert mp3s to ac3s. But not on my main computer. If anything, my main computer has more codecs installed. Perhaps I have screwed up my codecs on my main computer. Any advice on how to clean up codecs? Am I even on the right track? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
