rick1951 thanks for believing me about anydvd. Everybody was telling me that anydvd works great. I was about to reoload my computer and all software. I hope slysoft can find a fix for this.

    @ ljimenez

There are two ways to copy Saw 3, please review either of the two following links for a how-to guide and download/update any necessary programs.

    Option a

    Option b

Hope this helps and good luck.

Anydvd does not work with saw 3. dvdfab has a decripter built on board. Infact when you run dvdfab is asks you if you want to close anydvd. Running dvdfab disables anydvd even if you tell it not too.
dvdfab did all the work on saw 3, I am sorry to say. I have been playing around with dvdfab too...it is very decieving because you think that anydvd is working properly.

Ok here is what I got. I used ANYDVD (the latest version) and ripped it to my hd. I then used DVD SHRINK to shrink it. I then used nero to burn the movie. When I used Nero it told me that there MIGHT be some problems but I continued and when I was done I gave it to my son to watch it and let me know if there were any problems and he said that the movie was great!....

I think everyone has gotten tired of Saw 3. It's got heavier copy protection, but it's do-able now. There's 27 pages of help here. Take a look at the RipIt4Me tutorial on page 16. Most of the main players in decryption software are up to speed by now. So use the latest versions of the software.

Here's my two cents worth. I successfully copied Saw III using the following: Anydvd 6.1.1.4. Clonedvd 2.9.0.3. (full 8.5gb disc)
I then compressed it with Nero Recode 2 using the Advanced Analysis and High Quality Mode options. The movie turned out beautifully. I only ripped titles 8 - 10 - 12 though. I realize to some that's not a full rip but I usually don't care for extras anyway (especially all the trailers on Sony DVDs)

Anyone else ever try using Nero Recode with the advanced analysis and high quality modes checked? I recommend it.

I did the same with RIPIT4ME a week ago. I just had to try and renew my faith in Slysoft.

The MCC, along with TY, are Verbatim's top of the line media. Just so happens those are MIJ (made in Japan). Verbatim also sells, or has sold, media manufactured by companies with less impressive track records.

I had a hard time ripping Saw 3. Finally I used the latest version of DVD FabDecrypter and used Nero Recode2 to shrink and burn movie. Came out perfect with extra menus.

    @ Pacman 777;

Wow really, that's good to know thatthey are top of the line...

Just a question though; how do I search for the best compatibility with my media to decide on which standalone DVD player to purchase to view my backups. Is there some webpage, or database?? - as right now I'm watching it on my Ps2. =(

They were either having "senior moments", wasted on drugs, or were distracted by something and pushed reply! You're right there is no reason to quote someone and then not make a comment. Welcome to AD sometimes it gets a lot weirder than that.

Just ripped and burned this movie using the current versions of CloneDVD2(version 2.9.0.3) and AnyDVD (version 6.1.1.4). Result: A full disc copy including previews, menus, etc...Watched it on my home DVD player, worked perfectly. Did not use DVD shrink at all, as it would not work for this movie. Hope this helps.

theres no chance dvd shrink alone would work for this one
