Can't copy saw 3 - **just needs DVDFab Decrypter**

im not a total newbie just here lol but i was able to backup saw 3 and after that i went to make a backup of my backup with clonedvd2 and came up with a error, but if i selected the file from my harddrive that i created using rip4me and decrypter, i can make another copy. so im just saying those of you that have made their backup they should try to make another backup of that copy to see if it is just me, or if there are more problems with this disc then im aware of.

 

Well this my first time posting here so I will get to it.
I got my saw 3 2 weeks ago,
Anydvd dident work so I went to my back up. Ripit4me plus fix vts. And here we go ~ rip opens up dvd decryptor and when it gets to 100% it starts telling you that certain vts could not be fixed do you want to run fix vts well I said hell yeah.
And then fix vts runs the vts and 30mins later we are done but wait..... then dvd shrink automaticly opens up like a whore in church and no I can shrink it ..
Final result 1hr 20min
Works on my dvd player and playstation.

 

I also forgot when it tells u that it can't fix these vts just keep pressing ok cause u are fix vts will fix the rest.

I copied it using Dvd Decrypter & Clone DVD 2 (with anydvd running in the background newest version)

Dvd Decrypter> Use the File option (to copy video_ts files)

after it rips all files to your destination

open clone dvd, use the copy dvd titles, select the folder which you copied the dvd files to...

and go through the normal clone dvd process....done.



I used this method due to dvdshrink not able to read/write.
clone dvd & anydvd together didn't work as well...so with a little trial and error this worked perfect.

 

@Level9inc, was that a full back-up (Menus & Extras) or movie only?

Supposedly the update for FixVTS, 1.6.0.3 helps the rip problems with all the additional protection added to Saw 3. Seems there's a lot of added intentional VTS errors in that as well as the regular dose of ARccOS. Looks like they're trying to swamp the recording software now. From what is being said Saw 3 is just a "heaping helping" of what was seen in Talladega Nights. If someone would supply the RI4M log, we could see. I'll be getting the release next week if it doesn't get sold out. I'm looking forward to seeing what's there. So far DVDIdle has updated DVDFab Decrypter for Saw 3 (3060 Beta), AnyDVD 6.1.0.7 and CloneDVD2 does movie only, and FixVTS has been updated to 1.6.0.3 which is supposed to help with the decryption. So far about all the software with support has been getting updated for these releases, so I don't see this being any different. Everyone should follow Alkohol, aabbccdd, and other senior members here at AD and take it easy. Saw 3 isn't going to be any big deal.

 

vkn-ripit4me does work for this movie for some reason I don't believe ripit4me is able to read your disk which is why it is failing. Try chaning your copy ifo's method to Microsoft ASPI. This way work much better for me. You will get like three ifo on the fly patching errors you can just click o.k. on and let fixvts process the files from there should be good to go.

 

you have to use ripit4me to do saw 3. i tried anydvd but it only did 8 min. of the movie so i tried ripit and had no problems did movie only.

Whats up guys. I havent been in this forum discussion for a long long long time but I'm back. Wowwwwww. this discussion got so long before someone could actually make a backup of Saw 3. Well I just made a backup of my own using Ripit4me v1.6.4.0 in 1 click mode with Fixvts v1.603, Dvd Shrink the final version and finally burned a backup with nero. Movie plays just fine on all my dvd players and I think more of these movies will be coming out like this so get ready. C-ya guys thanks for reading on. Hope I was of some help.

Thanks for the log. That goes to show there's nothing special about this release, except for the sheer number of protected cells and unfreferenced VTS thrown in to mess with the software. That's the most I've seen, but just more of the same.

@PacMan777, there's nothing special about this release,? You gotta be kidding;P...ok granted the disc or title does not have a virus attached i.e "rootkit" but c'mon look at that logg. That's not normal. Even RipIt4Me doesn't just zip through this encryption and I have a fast desktop PC/ 3.2 P4 W/HT 200 GIG/HD 1 GIG of RAM. Oh, your gonna have ball when you get your hands on this one.;P

 

No I'm not kidding. Not normal and nothing special is just word games. There's nothing special there that is going to slow down the support teams from updating the software. In fact they already have. Sony added lots of protected cells and unreferenced VTS. That had been done with Talladega Nights and they just added more on this one. Check an RI4M log on it, if you doubt my word. As long as the software can do multiples of the same task, that type copy protection won't pose a problem. I'm surprised Sony even took the time to do it.
