IMHO dvd43 is a complete waste of time for anyone serious about backing up their movies. Thanks for silencing the salesman Creaky.
hello.....problem movies are a specialty of mine, the harder it is the more i will solve it....i will work on the saw IV issue..and get back when it happens.
@lastman If you read the previous 10 pages of this thread you will find it has been solved. Multiple times, in various ways. Lol.
Ok I read all the eleven pages. any dvd and clone dvd seem like the best way. but its not free. ive seen an older version of ripit4me work in here. but i cant find the older version, and i dont want to pay money to back up movies. So can anyone give a step by step procedure to backin up saw 4 using the freeware that is avail? after all thats the best challenge.
eh ?, you missed DVDFab (the permanently free version) to rip to hard drive, then use program of your choice to shrink if necessary
@hondaxv Then why not contact this gentlemen??? Should be like a piece of cake for him (especially now LOL) Sounds like he's looking for a "challenge", try him. mcmenace
Yes he definitely sounds like a salesman....he doesn't have to much of a specialty since a newbie like me read the threads asked a few questions and had it done the the day after the movie came out!!!!! And I don't think I would've trusted him anyways.....always faithful to AD members who actually know what they're talking about
I'm having a completely different problem backing up the movie...I'm getting the scratched disk message (I read the entire 11 pages so please read my entire post before the flames start) on Saw 4 and Shoot Em Up. Both disks are brand new from Wal Mart and there's no scratches. I've tried all of the ripping programs listed and they generate the same error, yet I can play the full movies through the same drive without any problem. This may or may not be related, but I also noticed my dvd drive (both are Lite-On btw) reads at 2x now. Besides telling me to buy a different brand's drive (which is what I'll eventually do), any ideas?
Just copy the second movie on SawIV, the first movie, chapter 25 is bogus. That is why you are getting the CRC errors, the latest versions of ANYDVD will correct that problem.
did you try the latest beta versions of dvdfab decrypter and anydvd? did you try doing the movie only? you want to do the shorter title, the latest versions will do the trick your drive has slipped into PIO mode you need to get it back into DMA mode you can do that in device manager by uninstalling the IDE controllers rebooting and let windows reinstall them or use this guide http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/260038 I had the same problem with my Lite-On drive not able to read DVDs but my Plextor/Pioneer read them fine so invest in a Pioneer drive next time
i had no problem once I used Dvdfab,Fixit, then DVDshrink. So far three movies have come out beautiful.
Well I'm running this under linux so i dont know how easy it would be to get those other aps working under wine.
