@Creaky, you need to see my friend Dr Sirch ( or is it Dr Search ), you got a bad cough that needs help.
using fixvts after you ripped with dvdfab decrypter would of most likely solved your problem. heres a guide to use that combo http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/494836
LOL I thought I copied it sucessfully because I didn't get any erros- but then when I went to watch it- it was skipping a lot .... so i just downloaded it.. =\
Skipping usually means bad media or burned too fast, which are you guilty of? 2.9.1.5, you referring to CloneDVD2?
Nothing I got today posed any problems at all. Gangster-Rendition-Clayton. And with everything updated Saw iv shouldn't either. AnyDVD-NeroRecode
me to but weak protection on all the new releases this week i think dvd shrink and dvd decrypter alone would even work hell maybe even DVD X Copy lol
believe it or not, I can't get Puppet Masters from '94 to copy!!!! everything goes good until I play it, just sits there, tried 2 different higher end players w/o succeess, 8 coasters so far. Rip it 4 Me says "disk appears to have no errors". (original) Shrink appears to do it, then I get an "unrecognizable disc" error on 1 dvd, the other just sits there. VobBlanker crashed on it. Finally got it with dvdfab, movie only. any ideas?? Kinda scary, never had to settle for this before, disk from '94 yet. Glad they stopped doing whatever it is. mcmenace
@mcmenace Wrong thread sorta But sounds like it's a bad disc/bad press. I'd exchange it for a new one if you can. Might just want to try decrypter by it's lonesome and see if that does it. It's usually the best one imho for the 'bad' ones.
@Binkie You know, I think the new XCopy programming altered my old Xcopy Gold install Some months back I used it and xpressed phoned home. When I put the Gangster disc in, it immediately says the disc is css protected and not copyable. I should click on the link and it take me to the new DVD neXt copy site where of course they try to sell you new software. Maybe first instance of a program reaching back and killing off a perfectly good program from it's new site. There's no way of installing the old program because you can't register it so it will work. I may try anyway. It's taking up space for no good reason anyway.I never use it.
That would not surprise garmoon - the new XCopy needs to make their $ somehow. So why not mess up the old one so have to buy the new version. I don't agree w/ it but how am I - just the consumer
AUDIOMIND try this method dvdfab decrypter to rip fixvts to clean the file then transcode with dvd shrink and burn, if its still hanging then your drive isn't able to handle the dvd try another drive also make sure the dvd is clean http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/494836
Yea, tried rip'n with DVD Fab. No go. I might actually have a bad disk? I'll try another and go from there.
