What do you do if your PC does not recognize the movie in your PC? I popped in the Saw IV and nothing happens. The CD burn doesn't even realize there is a dvd in there. I know the burner works because prior I ripped the game plan. I even burned it in Clonedvd. What is up with the DVD?

    I appreaciate your input

anyDVD 6310 beta and cloneDVD2 and shorter movie only (and menu's) worked for me. BTW, it IS the unrated version FYI
DVDFAB Platinum released new version 4.0.5.5 today, most likely willdo it as well, maybe entire disc

guys the only way it worked for me was with AnyDVD 6.3.0.3 & CloneDVD 2.9.1.2. Select the "Movie Only" option in CloneDVD then select(check mark) video title 01 > 1:35:28 this is the second one from top to bottom leave every other video title unchecked. This is the only way you can backed up till now, hope this will help you guys.

I am having this problem as of late. Think it may be my dvd drive, but some dvd's work fine and some are not even recognized....??

Hate to hijack a thread, but this problem is happening with saw IV, so technically....

Not having any luck with DVDfab trying to do movie only. I just tried 4.0.5.5. and it gave me the same problems as i've been having. My burn freezes up at the exact same spot every time @ 27%.
I would try to do the entire disc but fab shows it would be something like 51% quality... yuk!
Anyone having luck with dvdfab today?

I just WATCHED the entire unrated movie doing it the way I said
    That works for sure
and you get the menu so you can choose sound etc. I just did it so it's not conjecture or speculation or a guess.

DVDfab couldn't do it "Movie Only"

What i just tried and finally had SUCCESS is CloneDVD2 and Anydvd. I havent watched my copy yet but i skipped thru the chapters and it seems to be all good. Give it a try.
And lots of thanks to the people on previous page that posted this way to successfully back up Saw4.

    Backing up stubborn DVD's

I always use DVDShrink first. If an error occurs, then switch to DVDFab Decrypter (using Full Movie option). If the DVD happens to be a difficult disk, the speed will slow down. Keep the program running until a notification message appears and then choose "ignore errors" and let the program continue. After a few hours the DVD will be ripped. From there use DVDShrink, open file and click on the TS Video folder and then run. The filesize will then be able to be burned to a blank. If DVDshrink gives you a error again, then at least you have the ripped .vob files from DVDFabDecrypter so you can flaskmpeg and then merge with an .avi joiner program. If you want a DVD copy then just use VSO's ConvertXtoDVD to extract back to avi files. If all else fails, go to joox(.)net and ask someone to upload the film so you can download the file in 15-45 mins.

At the risk of sounding condescending, perhaps you should read the previous six pages of this thread. There are answers all over the place.

First off, make sure you're using the updated versions of DvdFab. Try ripping main movie.

I tried other methods listed to copy Saw IV. Ended up using Ripit4me Had to take out < > before and after movie name,(which opened dvddecrypter), next Dvdfab HD Decrypter 4 in full movie, dvd9 (all other opt.s won't work in free ed., then to Dvd Shrink full disk backup. Works great. Also worked with Good Luck Chuck. Both Lionsgate films as mentioned in above thread.

I just went out and bought a SONY DRU-840A DVD+R20x for $70. Works like a charm. I had a TDK DVDRW0404N ver 1.0C and it definitly needed replaced (7 years OLD!). Finally backed up SAW IV with the recommendations found here, though I did have to purchase CLONEDVD.
Couldnt have been easier....CloneDVD /anyDVD/ DVDshrink (small movie only)

So, $70 for new drive...$30 for CloneDVD, I spent $100 to back-up a $20 movie. But I am prepared for the future...at least thats what I keep telling myself......man I got a problem.
