I have read through all the pages and have tried to download the different programs but they did not work for me. that is why i am trying to take each part step by step.

If possible could someone pvt message me with the step by step process? I guess i do not know these other programs and have been downloading everything but nothings working. so if it would be possible for someone to break these new things to me step by step that would be awsome!

Sorry for taking up your time but I have read the other pages but everyone has different ideas that seem not to work for me. I would going to try the method of dvdfab but I dont know where to go from there?
    thanks

I would simply use DVDFab 4.0.5.5 in movie-only mode (to rip the movie to hard drive), then use DVD Shrink in case movie needed shrinking. I haven't got Saw IV but that's what i would do (like i would with every single movie out there)...

..the only difference (and this also goes for every other movie out there) is if the video compression was less than 90%. I would then use DVD Rebuilder with the HC encoder (instead of the DVD Shrink step) to ensure decent video quality. But forgetting about DVD Rebuilder for now, movie ripping could not be any simpler. Other people use other programs, i just do simple as i have better things to do with my time than using 600 different programs to do a movie :)

Hello All, I'm new here but have been a A.D. fan for years. I actually tried running Saw 4 thru DVDFAB 4 yesterday and nothing. I'm about to load AnyDVD/CloneDVD but before I do that I would like to ask, Is DVDFab up to date now or should I proceed with AnyDVD/CloneDVD?

    I am confused

As far as I understand it, ANYDVD is a background running program to help other backup programs work with protected DVD's,

So when people say "I used ANYDVD" what are they talking about?

How does one use ANYDVD by itself to backup a DVD?

    new anydvd is out..........

    6.3.1.2 2008 01 23
    - New: Added "Create Logfile" menu, removed "enable logging" from settings
    - New: Autoplay is no longer triggered, if settings are changed or AnyDVD is
    disabled / enabled.
    - New (DVD): Added hooking of the IDvdInfo2::GetDiscID interface. All 32-bit
applications which use DiscIDs will retrieve the correct DiscID, even if AnyDVD is running (e.g., Windows MCE 2005, Windows Media Player, Invelos DVD Profiler, MyMovies, etc.)
Note: This feature might not work correctly with X-Protect or other heavily corrupted discs. Blame the manufacturer of the disc....
This feature is currently only supported for 32-bit applications.
    - New (DVD): AI Scanner has now different settings, "Disabled", Automatic" or "Enabled"
    - New (DVD): Added support for new protection, e.g., "Saw IV", R1, US
    - New (DVD): Added support for new protection, e.g., "Mr. Woodcock", R1, US

    - New (DVD): Added support for new copy protection, e.g. "Paheli", R2,
    Germany
    - New (DVD): Added support for new copy protection, e.g. "Whisper", R2,
    Germany
    - New (DVD): Added support for new copy protection found on some adult
    titles to the AnyDVD ripper
    - New (DVD): Improved performance of the AI scanner.
    - Fix (DVD): Problems with "Shoot 'Em Up", R1, US
    - Fix (DVD): AnyDVD ripper removed parts of the Audio Test of
    "Ratatouille", R1, US.
    - Fix (DVD): AI Scanner missed one chapter of the full frame version on
"Fun with Dick and Jane (2005)", R1, US
    - Fix (DVD): IFOTitles 2 error with some Macrovision RipGuard protected
titles, e.g. "Funny Factory with Mickey - Volume 1", R1, US
    - Some minor fixes and improvements
    - Updated languages

problems should evaporate (till next time)

I'm not trying to be mean, but WHY do people keep asking how to back up saw iv??? It has been posted more than once that any dvd beta 6311 with the current version of clonedvd2 works fine. I've tried it myself with no problems. I'm glad to see that dvdfab has updated and I have also burned a back up using dvd fab to create an iso, then img burn to burn. I just get so annoyed with repetitive questions that have already been answered. These useless questions cause a thread that is really 1-3 pages into 10 pages of crap because people are too lazy to read through the post!!! Sorry for ranting.

Ok I got it to work with movie only. Now that anydvd has updated I tried it there and it has scanned however the movie is way to long. it will only allow for 4464 mb and it is 6300 long. which things can I uncheck to lower the space so that I can burn?

I successfully backed up Saw IV..

    -Update AnyDVD to v6.3.1.2.
-Use AnyDVD to rip to HD (Right click on the fox and select "Rip video DVD to Hard disk")
-Use DVD Shrink to finish the job..

    Enjoy
