I recently installed windows 7 ultimate on my laptop, and I was wondering why it doesn't allow me to use tv as a monitor. I right clicked the desktop and went to screen resolution, on the drop down it should have and option for multiple monitors but it doesn't. It only has (Generic non-PnP monitor on standard VGA graphics adapter). I was wondering if anyone could tell me why it won't give me the option to connect to multiple monitors. Is it because its an old laptop and it shouldn't have windows 7 ultimate on it? An advice is appreciated......Thanks!

you didn't load the video driver which is why you have standard vga graphics adapter thereby not able to use tv as a monitor. dell site only shows xp drivers for that laptop.
