Can't drag shortcuts on desktop

    Hi
    Hope someone can help me with a problem.For the last couple of days I have found that I can't drag my shortcuts and icons around the desktop.I have ensured that they are not locked on the "arrange icons by" menu and the only thing ticked is "show desktop icons".I have tried system restore and it was ok for a day but on re-boot it was back to normal.
    I use Windows XP.

    I have done a system restore to a date a week earlier and now that has fixed the problem for now thanks
