    Hi,

Can anyone help with setting up digital audio on my system? Here's my problem:

I have HDMI running from my Geforce 9800GTX+ (card->DVI adapter->HDMI->TV) and the video works just fine.

There is a small two-pin spdif wire that came with the card and from what I've read, is the solution to get the audio through the DVI adapter into the HDMI cable.

Yet, the spdif port on my mother board is a four pin which looks like this (. ..) I've read that pin 1 is 5v, then an empty slot, pin 2 is spdif, pin 3 is ground.

Now, I've tried putting the two-pin into every combination on that port and still I can't get audio. No HDMI option is available in my Realtek sound manager as far as I can tell and I have the most recent HD audio drivers.

I do have spdif out and toslink out on the back panel but I fear that my TV won't take the video signal from the HDMI and then the audio from somewhere else at the same time.

The toslink seems to be in the same vicinity as the RGB/PC in port but would I be losing video quality using that input?

Please, if anyone can provide some guidance I would greatly appreciate it. I've been reading forums for days now and can't figure this out.

    Neesh

It should work just fine like this. You might have to play with the settings a little, but most TV's will let you mix-n-match inputs.
