Is there any way that you can STOP iTunes from losing info of your file when you move it to another location or change the name ?? If not, what's an easier and faster way to locate each one again, instead of individually clicking them one at a time. I'm sure this question has been asked alot, but I couldn't find a thread on it. Thanks Guys.

Well, if you are doing a whole bunch of them, just delete them from iTunes Only. Then move them to their new location & re-import :)

What I've done is told iTunes to consolidate my library [adds all songs to the iTunes folder] and then I've just deleted the songs that I had littered all over my computer.

Once you do it theres no simple 'back' button. It copies your music to the iTunes folder and if you want to 'undue' it you have to delete the files in the iTunes Music folder manually. You might want to set some time aside to let your computer do this, depending on how much music you have it could take a little bit of time.

If you have songs that cannot 'find the origional file', consolidating your library is a little futile. consolidating your library doesn't 'find' your origional files..

Well his question was is there any way to avoid iTunes asking where the file went when he moves them, so I was suggesting he just have iTunes put all of his music files into the iTunes music folder [I'm assuming hes moving them for orginizational purposes]
