I've just purchased a AB60N Shuttle Mainboard and I have tried everything to get it to power up but to no avail. I've checked all the connections twice three times per the manufacturers install booklet but still no power up. Could someone please lead me in the right direction to solve this problem.
Power switch front panel connector in properly and the right way round? Is this a new build? Do you know if the Power Supply works?
As far as the install booklet says i think it is right. The power supply is running a biostar p4m80-m4 right at this moment and was what i posted this thread with. The processor that is running in the biostar board is the one i had in the AB60N and i thought that was the case at first but it wasn't.
the cpu is a northwood 2.8 ghz would that have a factor. The psu is a allied al b450e max 450 watt and im running a 6800 ultra classic video card.
Well Allied PSUs are certainly not to be trusted, so I'd get that changed as a precaution. The AB60N only supports Intel Pentium 4 CPUs, but the 2.8Ghz Northwood 478 is supported according to the official list. Interesting, I've never seen a full size ATX Shuttle board before.
An Antec EarthWatts 380W unit will be plenty. That's sufficient wattage, but the Allied units don't put out anywhere near as much as they say, I would hazard a guess at 240-270 for that "450" unit, whereas the Earthwatts 'does what it says on the box', is cheap, quiet, and most important of all, solidly made.
