cant get external hard drive to work on both my laptop and desktop

    can anyone please help, just bought a new freecom external harddrive it works fine on my laptop but not on my desktop,the harddrive should install automaticaly but wont on desktop

    You may have to format it. Do you already have stuff on it? Formating will allow the HDD to show up in "My Computer" but will erase all data during the formating process.
