Hello, I'm a newbie on this, so don't shoot. Yesterday I'll installed a ViperGC modchip into my gamecube. Flashed it with Cobra 1.2. Everything went well, but I can't get the games to play. I'll also installed an Extension Case (to read large DVD's). When I inert a burned game and boot te GC, the Cobra Explorer can read the disc. But when I select 'Direct boot', the GC animation starts and after that the GC say's 'An error has occured....'. I already tweaked the laser (nearly 200 Ohms). I tried 3 differend brand DVD's, all -R (maybe +R helps ??) Got no original GC game, so can't test the GC (it's a new one, never played a game on it) Pleas help. (with DVD brands should be good??)
I know that the RiData mini -R's designed for the camcorders that record straight to disk work great here - i haven't used any other media yet as i have had 100% success with the RiData's.
Dude your in luck... I had the same problem for 6 days and I didn't know what to do.The problem is your iso. When you backup your games from your Gamecube to your PC...what do you use?Gcos? If you use the Cobra with the ripper...thats your prob. Try to backup your game and see when you get your save/run/cancel box...check if your gamecube original game stops spinning. This was happenining to me...I would get an empty 1.35 GB iso on my desktop but the gamecube game wouldnt even spin during the download. If it does stop go on modthatcube or maxconsole to downloa dGcos 1.4 and flash your VIPER with it! No more problems!
Hello Rafboy, I Downloaded 2 games form newsgroups, made no backup or anything (I even don't know how ). The downloaded ISO's burned to differend DVD's... can browse them with Cobra 1.2, but they won't start... Suggestions?
*** WORKS *** Ok, I flashed my Viper GC with that CGOS 1.4 BIOS. The DVD's who where not able to boot with Cobra 1.2 are booting using CGOS 1.4 and the SWAP trick. The Swap trick wouldn't work with the Cobra 1.2 bios. I'm very confused, but happy at the same time. My suggesion is that there are 2 types op DVD-images 1. who can boot directly using Cobra 1.2 2. using the swap trick with CGOS 1.4 What are the differences? How can I reconize them without burning them first? Wich images do work directly with Cobra 1.2? Lot of questions from my, but there is progress ;-)
