    Hey,

I jut bought the pinnacle 700 usb capture card and I am trying to make DVD's out of my recorded movies.
Unfortunately, they work on my computer but not on any other DVD player.
I downloaded the latest firmware but still no good.
Can anybody tell me why ?? it does copy movie DVD's well which work on any DVD player. But when it comes to captured video's no DVD can read it.

    thanks

What is the capture format before conversion to DVD?

You got it. Change the Capture format to MPEG and you are in business.

Curious. before you converted your native MPEG to DVD, did you check the settings for conversion? Are there settings which you can manipulate prior to conversion? If so, check to see if the default is set to PAL or NTSC or if if's even set at all. If not set or set to PAL, change to NTSC. Let's see how that works

    thnaks for your time.
Ok. on one of the tabs which says capture devices, I choose the source which is my camcorder. just next to it says TV standard, for which I choosed PAL since I am in europe. ( my camera and TV are both PAL - my pinnacle capture card is NTSC-PAL-SECAM)

Under capture format, I can choose between DV or MPEG, for which I choosed MPEG. You can choose between high quality and custom. If custom is selected, I can chose between MPEG1 or MPEG2, which one to use here ?

Under the project preferences tab, it says Project Format, I can chooses "set from first clip added to project" or I can choose between "NTSC standard/widescreen or PAL standart /widescreen".

under the video and audio preferences tab, I can choose backgrond rendering : "set codec automatically" or "use this codec for backgound rendering" - DV or MPEG 2...

I now it is difficult when you don't have it in front of you...
    thanks for trying

can it be a problem with the codec ??

Leave at set codec auto. Since you are Europe, all CC settings should be PAL, and the MPEG format should be MPEG II. DVD native is MPEG II.
