my friends pc can't sign on the internet using IE or Firefox. i ran a virus scan using avast pro it found nothing i ran spybot it found some things and lavasoft ad ware and it found only 1 thing but still i can't get it hook up to the internet. any suggestions
What do viruses and spyware have to do with Internet access? Is your friend DSL, Dial up, Cable, or T1? Can your friend ping his modem? Have you reset the modem? Is your friend using a router? These are the kinds of things that we need to know before we can walk you through getting your friend connected again. Your friend should have an ISP that is providing the service. Most likely a simple reset of the modem will get your friend connected again.
