Hi all i was looking and following SHOEY's guide(posted here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/192503)which is a great post by the way so no offence is intended! to create a mini image to mount on a virtual drive and failed! As i read through his guide i also found that alot of others also was having trouble! SO i am starting this thread to try and help myself and others how to make a mini image so we caqn do away with our cd's/DVD's and keep them in a safe place! Right so heres what i undersatnd so far but ANYONE with any tips and/or any information please please post. So here goes :- First of all you need Alcohol 120%( not sure what version but i have v1.9.5 build 3105 which i got from http://ts.kurtubba.com/) then insert the cd/dvd that you wish to create a mini image of( HAS TO BE THE ORIGINAL!!) click on image making wizard, then choose the drive that the cd/dvd is in that you want to create a mini image of. Set drive speed to 1x(150kb/s)(which is one of my problems i cannot change this speed due to the box or window is grey) at the bottom of the window is 5 boxs the top box which says "skip reading errors" must be ticked and all the others must be left unchecked then click next. You then can choose the location and name of your mini image then click next. Which is all good SO FAR! Right here is where all the problems start. After a few read errors have come up have come up click "Cancel". It will then ask if you are sure, click "Yes". Right here is the problem i dont get any write errors!! In the guide it tells you to check the box that says "skip read errors" i have tried with it checked and unchecked and still no joy. I JUST DONT GET ANY READ ERRORS!! Is this due to it being a DVD disk or does this guide only work with cds. If so does anyone know where there is a guide to do this with a DVD disk?? PLEASE HELP!!!! System Specs are :- KN1 EXTREME MOTHERBOARD(939 Socket) AMD ANTHLON 64BIT 3.5 PROCESSOR RADEON X800 PCI EXPRESS 256 GDDR3 1024 RAM 160 GIG HDD (MAXTOR6L160MO)
Yeah sure i'm trying it on Battlefield 2 at the moment but really going to try and do it with all my games due to having to keep putting my cds/dvds in. I am also looking for a program to tell me what type of protection is on them, plus some type of program to stop the protection connecting to the net and getting me blacklisted!! Thankyou for your help i really apreciate it!
Yeah you can download them from www.gamecopyworld.com or www.gameburnworld.com just wanted to create my own as some are not on there
