I have a few MKV files in 720p that I want to play using hardware acceleration and PowerDVD is the only software that I know that supports hardware playback, but when I enable it I cannot get the subtitles to show up even though in Haali media splitter they are selected, as soon I disable the HW acceleration the subtitles work flawlessly.

Since PowerDVD does not support MKV I have renamed the file to MP4 and it's working fine except for the subtitles.

Anyone knows any other software that allows me hardware playback (and preferably with MKV support) and allows me to have subtitles or how to fix this issue?

    Cheers

Well you could try to actually switch the container to MP4. Copy audio and video and set to MP4 with Avidemux or Xvid4PSP.
