so i started up my computer a couple of days ago and for some reason i heard no sound when trying to play a youtube video. so i went to volume control to se if it was muted and i got this:"there are no active mixer devices available.to install mixer devices, go to control panel...etc.
so i tried that and i got no sound.then i went to run:services.msc. to see if the windows audio was working correctly. all was good, but still no sound. plz helpp...this has gone on for days and i'm getting really frustrated. any help would be much appreciated.... =)

One thing you can do is delete the audio drivers. It would be under control panel/system/device manager/audio.

When you delete the drivers, reboot your computer. During bootup windows will notice that it's missing drivers and will reinstall them. (drivers will already be available in the driver folder).

If this doesn't work you might need to reinstall them manually from the motherboard cd/ or the motherboard website.

Worst case scenario you can get a PCI audio card (cost about 10.00), I've had to use those before when my onboard audio would give me problems. Even a cheap PCI audio card will play good sound.
