I made the mistake of updating Nero 8 and the update did not complete. The error message said something about a key in the reg (something to do with InCD) could not be changed. So it rolled back. I then manually uninstalled Nero but that didn't work completely so I then used their Clean Tool but even after a registry scrub, all the keys were not removed so I next tried a manual removal. Now when I try to delete keys, I either get Access Denied or An error is preventing the key from being opened, access is denied error. I've made sure Registry Editing Tools are enabled, rebooted and still no joy. I'm running Vista Ultimate 32. Without removing these keys, I know I won't be able to install Nero.
Are you logged in as Administrator? Did you use both the Nero 7 and Nero 8 Clean Tools? Try a registry cleaner? You can always reinstall the OS if need be. Edit: corrected typo
Yes to all. I've tried the clean tools but since there are no Nero files on my computer, there's nothing there for it to remove. I've also tried 3 registry cleaners. Thanks for your help.
