Install stps status when: writing system Register values occurs.
    Message displayed is:
Could not write nerofilter check to key\software\microsoft\windows\
current version\run. Verify that you have sufficient acess to that key or contact support help. Neros support help is for me non-existant. Called was held on line for 20 minutes not toll free.
I typed in the key on the jewel case, if that's not valid what can I do. I hope some one can help me!

Did you download the Nero Clean Tool and consider downloading the 8.3.2.1 version? If your license is still valid, all you need do is type it in where it says "Demo" on the install window. Make sure you don't have any resident Roxio/Ahead or other Nero files on C: You might want to go into the Registry and delete them there, too. Then reboot, install, and see what happens.

Any luck so far? You still need to erase every trace of DVD editing S/W. The Nero Clean Tool will erase it on XP, too. Roxio stuff benefits by the Windows Install Clean Up program. I've had better luck with Nero 7 than 8, by the way. N8 has a few more options for designing/editing DVDs, but N7 does a fine job too, particularly since you can copy artwork/pictures from anywhere on your computer.

There is NO reason to use NERO 7 or 8 unless you are stuck with VISTA on your computer! NERO 6 is the end of the line for me. NERO 7 was full of bugs. It didn't last for one year, before becoming an obsolete train wreck. NERO 8 is full of programs that most of us will NEVER use. It is laced will an overdose of anti-piracy garbage and DRM. No thanks. No way

I'll use FREE wares, before I install this new AHEAD garbage on my computers...
