Cant lock HD back, is there a way to fix this error 5?!?!

    I have just backed up C: and E:, and bascically just put the factory MS dashboard back on. When i connect the IDE cable back up to the xbox HD, and restart....it STILL shows error 5. If you can help me, ill even get u som months of xbox live if u want

    Well there's a few ways to go about it.

    If you have the EEPROM, you can use xboxhdm to lock it.

    If not, the easiest way to lock it would be to just install a mod chip and then lock it using any application that supports it..

    That depends.

    If you have the EEPROM and plan on using xboxhdm, then yes, you'll need to burn a CD.

    If you don't, then you'll need to install a mod chip and burn AID or Slayer's to a DVD and use it to lock the drive.
