Hi everyone....Can anyone help with this problem please? I have made a cd up with winxp pro and slipstreamed the service pack 2 image into it. I want to burn it to a cd using NERO. I have used the guide found here - http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/windowsxp_sp2_slipstream.asp I have done everything right as it suggests and burnt the disk. All I get when I put it in the machine, either mine or the one I am trying to test it on is the following error - CD Rom loader ver 1.2 BETA etc etc by Bart Lagerwei Error Loading Image: DISKEM1X.BIN PLEASE CAN ANYONE HELP?? Its driving me mad, both Winxp Pro and Service pack 2 are legal Microsoft Disks and I am getting no where and piling up ruined disks. No matter what software I use or method I use seems to work. Thanks for your help in advance!
Great thanks for the reply! Unfortunatly all links on the page dont work. They are either not there or have been moved. I have managed to trace the autopatcher file though and I will try that. Its downloading right now and I will let you know if it works or not! At the link it says - "Google says its something to do with Adaptec Drivers...but thats ancient History.." Whats he on about? Its got nothing to do with adaptec at that point in the install has it? As nothing has been done to the machine yet. Or is it refering to using Adaptec drivers to make the boot loader work... Still totally lost lol....ah well.. Thanks.
Nope Still wont work. I downloaded the Autopatcher.exe file and ran that and updated my machine. BUT I still cant make a bootable CD with Nero and still get the same error message. I want to make a bootable disk of winxp with the service pack slipstreamed into it. Each time I follow the online guides as they say and each time I get the same crap error message. HEEELLLPPP!!! Lol.. Thanks guys.
From what I can tell by googling, DISKEM1X.BIN was a multiboot loader that is no longer under development. http://www.nu2.nu/diskemu/ I don't have this bin on any of my systems. I also don't think it's part of the bootable CD but I don't know for sure. Did you ever have your system setup to multiboot under different versions of Windows or Linux? Go back to the original guide and see if it's included with any of the files you included on the bootable CD. Otherwise, delete it from your system and see what happens. I don't think this problem has anything to do with Nero. This is dealing with an OS conflict.
